Jenna Simeonov

Jenna is a writer, voice coach, and pianist based in Calgary. She is the editor-in-chief of the online opera magazine, Schmopera, and she contributes to The Globe and Mail and Opera Canada. She’s also a pianist and vocal coach, and working with opera singers is how she foundher beat. Her favourite operas include Peter Grimes, Written on Skin, and Anna Nicole.

Without objection, Jenna will go and hear any opera by Verdi and Britten. Her fantasy dinner party guests include Mozart, Amy Winehouse, and Elizabeth I. If you offer her a coffee, she will always say yes (please). She is learning to play the ukulele alongside her six-year-old son.
